Privacy
At Shout Safe we take privacy very seriously. We believe that users should be able
to specify the amount of data which is public available for other users to view.
T
Privacy Levels
All user data in Source Safe has a privacy level associated with it. The privacy
level determines who has the ability to view the user's data. Privacy levels can
be set on user details, blogs and status. Each blog entry has its own privacy setting.
The three privacy levels are:
* Public
* Friend
* Private
Data that is set to public is available to all Internet user. The information can
be viewed by anyone using Shout Safe, whether they are logged in or not.
Data that is set to Friend can only be viewed by users set up as Friends within Shout
Safe and the user who owns the data. A Friend is a person who is trusted by the
user. Look in the Friend section for more information about Friends.
Private data can only be viewed by the owner of the data. Only blog entries can
have privacy level of Private.
Verification
One of the key features we have in Shout Safe is the verification process.
Whenever you add a new Contact or Friend to Shout Safe an email is sent to the person,
asking them to verify you. This is done to prevent abuse of the Service.
